Transitioning our team at Hanna Andersson to design emails modularly which has enable us to efficiently lean into increased segmentation without overwhelming our resourcing. YOY we have increased our email output from on average 25 emails per week to 80 per week without a change in resourcing.
Returning from maternity leave and receiving a promotion less than one month later and then subsequently receiving another promotion within the same year while balancing life as a working mom for the first time.
Building out the most collaborative and effective design team I have worked with from hiring, onboarding, mentorship, constructive feedback, building opportunities for their growth, advocating for their needs and staying highly invested in the day to day of their work.

Most of all, I like to lead from the front and exemplify the work and behavior I hope to see from my team. It is key for me to stay invested in their day to day so that I can be effective in guiding them and advocating on their behalf. For all of my reports I intentionally invest time in knowing them well and displaying a genuine care for their wellbeing. Then, if dealing with an employee who is struggling, we have a basis of relationship where feedback can be constructive and aimed at their growth and benefit. And if dealing with an employee who is succeeding, we can challenge them to reach new levels with that basis of care.

Receiving feedback:
Understand that you sit at the intersection of many points of view. It is your job to solve for all of these while protecting the brand. This is the challenge, welcome it!
Remain confident. Feedback, when given correctly, is the best way to improve yourself.
It's not about you, it's about the brand, so stay flexible.
It is ok to put guardrails around what types of feedback are constructive.
Giving feedback:
Give positive, in the moment, feedback as often as you can. It builds trust and lays the groundwork for more effective constructive feedback.
Be direct and specific, but don't micromanage. Guide people as they solve the problem, don't solve it for them.
Where possible, tailor your feedback to how the individual best receives information and set them up for success
Shying away from giving constructive feedback doesn't help, it only hinders others growth
